SPEC clutch?

Has anyone bought a clutch off of BNR motorsports?
I was looking at their stage 2 clutch, holds 400hp and non-puck design. Supposedly the longest lasting clutch available.

They say it's a "SPEC" clutch, is this a company or what? I haven't heard of them...

Chronos,

I believe it's Starspec and they are a company. No first hand info on how well they perform. I've heard that a lot of the Camaro guys run them. I'm interested as well.

Thumbs up

spec sells clutches for the rx7? nice. i just came from the mustang crowd. bought my rx7 on tuesday. so i'm still learning about what's available. but if it's of any help to you guys... spec is top notch. their stage 3 clutch has been on many many 600+hp street mustangs and are holding up perfectly. i was going to put one in my mustang but decided to sell it for the rx7 instead.

Number 1 Brian at BNR Supercars is a great guy to deal with and number 2 I had Spec stage 2 clutch in my FD before I got rid of it and had about 1500 miles on it. The clutch handled the power well, and I was very satisfied with the peddle feel, etc. You can beat the price either. I personally have never had/used a ACT clutch but when I get my next FD a SPEC Star clutch will be going in it. Also silver94r2 uses one in his mustang and loves it as well.

Well enough of my rant, just wanted to tell you once again that both BNR and SPEC are great.

I've been running a Spec clutch for about 10K miles and when I pulled my motor the other day the clutch and flywheel still looks brand new and in awsome shape. Its a great clutch.

My advice on that clutch is to torque it down to stock or so specs, which I think is 25-30lbs. I saw one that was torques down with a impact and it engaged horrible.

Anyway, give Brian a call. He is a great guy and can get the clutches out to you real quick.

Also just for a little info, the owner of Star clutches son-in-law is one of the head guys there and he owned a 3rd gen for a long time. He ran the Star clutch for years daily and at the track with no probs. Me and Brian know him personally as Star is a local Birmingham company.
