sparks from exhaust

ok, i've been hearing reports of sparks or something that's flaming hitting the ground whenever my car shoots flames, whether i'm on it hard or not. my car hasn't lost any performance and i've been hearing this for a while. is this just extra fuel droplets hitting the ground while still on fire or what? i just recently tuned my car on the dyno and it's right around 11:1 with mild timing. also, my turbos are in poor shape. could it be small pieces of the turbine wheels?

LOL!!! I can't imgaine it'd be small pieces of your turbine wheels. Of course, if it were that would really suck.

yeah, but that's the only thing i can think of that would be metallic that's comin out my exhaust. my motor is still strong, pulls good vacuum, and doesn't feel like it's lost any compression, but my turbos have been on the crappy side for a while now. i was just thinkin if the shaft had some wobble, it could cause the wheels to smack the housings and spit small pieces out.

or it could be killing my exhaust gaskets, since they are made out of some metallic substance, might just be enough to chip it off. i'm at a total loss here!

I'm sure it's just extra fuel or something. Are your turbos leaking any oil?

That sux man... I can't imagine turbo fins going through the motor and then out the exhaust without breaking something else.

Sounds (looks) like your Main-Cat, or possibly your Pre-Cat, is falling apart. The small pieces may be from the inner core of one of the cats.??

Well, not if it's on the turbo side though. That goes straight through the down dipe.

However, if there are small pieces of the catalyst falling apart in the main cat, then that would be possible.

i have a 3" downpipe and midpipe, so it can't be anything in the exhaust, except for maybe the gasket as i had mentioned. as far as the fins go, i meant the turbine (exhaust side) which would just shoot straight out the exhaust. my turbos are leaking oil, but not smoking, at least not much. i know the front turbo has quite a bit of shaft play, but the back isn't as bad. i was thinking fuel myself, and the droplets which are on fire and just hittin the ground. the turbos haven't lost any spool time and like i said the motor runs fine. i would just like to know if anyone could locate my problem

I think the problem is that the people who are seeing these ***** of fire aren't wearing their glasses.

normally i'd be inclined to agree with ya, but i've had like 3 or 4 ppl tell me about this, and they refer to them as sparks amongst the flames, just kinda freaks me out. i've seen some v-8's doin that stuff before and they end up blown up soon thereafter
