spark plug wires

Is it possible for spark plug wires to go bad and if so does anyone know what type of symptoms it would give the car?

yes, they can go bad. i'd imagine that you'd lose power due to a weak or non-existant spark.

it's possible. if the plugs aren't sparking well enough (or at all) there won't be enough power for the rotors to get moving.

Just test to see if you are getting spark by putting the plug near the block and turning the motor over. Bad plug wires usually reasults in ignition break-up in high rpms, or if they are really bad you would notice the motor just running rough all the time.

As far as starting, start with the basics, spark, air, and fuel.
