Source for aftermarket flywheel to counterweight bolts?

Hey everyone -

Recently got an aftermarket flywheel (an ACT Prolite) and got the auto counterweight to attach it to. I don't have the bolts to bolt the two together, though, and these are bolts you DEFINITELY want to be strong and work right.

Looks like the stock bolts are around $2-3 each, part number 99784-1016 according to the parts diagram. If that's the best way to go, cool, but I figure there might be some sort of quality aftermarket bolt or something .

Look in your yellow pages under fasteners. There two stores in my little town that have just about any bolt avalible. I'd go with grade 8, or 10.9.

I'd like to help but lacking at least a photo of the bolt I can't contribute. Unless you need to buy 20 I'd stay with stock.

Have the stock bolts ever failed?

The thread pitch at the needed daimeter are hard to find in high strength (10.9)
I looked everywhere available to the public for them - even McMaster-Carr did not have them
If you are lucky your local bolt supplier will have the 8.8 grade in the right size, that is what I did
Maybe someone has a wholesale connection and can get some for us

this is why the RB flywheel is a better value, imo

the stock bolts you list work, but they are a teeny bit short, cause the flexplate is thinner.

id try 9978-41-020, its a little longer, hopefully not too much

Yeah, there are 6 bolts. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the bolts to check or measure - I've HAD those bolts in my had before on my old FC, though. Got the flywheel for a SCREAMIN' deal, then bought the counterweight, just need the bolts .

J9FD3S, I'll probably just get 6 of those - they're not too pricey, and good OEM bolts are good piece of mind.

Thanks!

Did the 9978-41-020 bolts work or were they too long?

I'm in a similar situation with a Fidanza flywheel.

I think the correct part number is 8051-27-236.On a side note, how much torque is needed according to the FSM?The european FSM soesn't have auto trannies, and red loctite would be ok?
