sounds like a v8!!!
Ok i fired the 7 up with a new streetported motor and it turned over fine. And now the problem is there is an exhaust leak coming from some were that is really big. Is it supposed to smoke alot, and it sounds like a v8, blub blub blub, a really rought ideal. I can look at the downpipe from the top and bottom and it dosent look to be coming from there. It looks to be coming out from the heat sheild, but i remeber tightening them down to the spec torques on the mani and then giving it a little extra umph when tightening. I dont know were this huge leak is coming from, or maybe its supposed to smoke alot. I dont know but i could use some help.

i think it the dp, but there is still alittle bit of smoke coming from around the exhaust mani, i think it will be alright if i drive it that way, cause im not going to be in the boost for a while cause of break in. Am i thinking right.
well they turn on when i turn the a/c on but not with the lights on. Is that right? But how far up on the temp gauge does the needle have to go before it turns the fans on.

ok, um it should idle rougher than normal, also, is it full 3" exhaust? it will be louder, non seq or seq? If its a fresh motor expect it to smoke because it will be burning off all the vasoline, oil protection, and other **** used to coat the bearings and thrust surfaces...
if it continues to smoke like crazy out the tailpipe, i'd start looking for other problems.

To answer your question about the fan temps. Without the lights, rear window defroster, or various other "high load" items the fans will come on at 221F. With those on they should come on at 209F. Hope that helps some.

A street port or bridge port of a rotary engine is similar to changing to a larger cam in a piston engine. What you are hearing is "overlap" which is the when the intake and exhast ports are opened, briefly, at the same time. At idle, this is noted by an irregular sounding idle such as described earlier. (BLUB, BLUB,.....).
Bottom line this means more high rpm HP.
