SOS NSX shift **** in an FD

I recently picked up a used SOS NSX shift **** off ebay. I've been wanting to try one in my RX7 ever since I saw GrandMighty put one in his FD and I couldn't pass up the price. The item is a replica of the NSX Type-S shift **** and is made by Science of Speed. The quality is top notch. It is very heavy and has a small retainer ring at the bottom, which clamps in to the stock NSX shift boot. The retaining ring also fits in the the stock FD shift boot. It's a little loose so I very slightly bent the pins outwards and got a nice fit. The only other thing that I had to do was change the shift **** to an M10x1.25 thread, which I did with a tap & die set.

It's a subtle modification that blends in well with the stock interior pieces. The shift **** sits at the same height as the OEM shift **** when it's wound all the way down. The pictures don't do justice to how subtle it is. The average person would think that it's an OEM piece. The shift **** feels really nice in your hands too.

On to some pictures (forgive my old shift boot and the dust).
