SOS NSX shift knob in an FD

I recently picked up a used SOS NSX shift knob off ebay. I've been wanting to try one in my RX7 ever since I saw GrandMighty put one in his FD and I couldn't pass up the price. The item is a replica of the NSX Type-S shift knob and is made by Science of Speed. The quality is top notch. It is very heavy and has a small retainer ring at the bottom, which clamps in to the stock NSX shift boot. The retaining ring also fits in the the stock FD shift boot. It's a little loose so I very slightly bent the pins outwards and got a nice fit. The only other thing that I had to do was change the shift knob to an M10x1.25 thread, which I did with a tap & die set.

It's a subtle modification that blends in well with the stock interior pieces. The shift knob sits at the same height as the OEM shift knob when it's wound all the way down. The pictures don't do justice to how subtle it is. The average person would think that it's an OEM piece. The shift knob feels really nice in your hands too.

On to some pictures (forgive my old shift boot and the dust).

Looks like the "Joyfast" knob that Rotary Love sells.
