Soon Im gonna have a 400hp race ready track car, but before that

I still have to decide between a RX-7 and WRX. I though have decided I dont want a euro this time, although a M3 or a 993 would be more reliable in many ways. But to me fixing is part of the fun .

I do have a question that the "search" doesnt work well on

Its is true that Mazda fixed "all" the problems that occurs to 1993 model in 1994? which makes 1994 models much more reliable?

hopefully I could join this forum in the future with my track FD...thanks alot

Also, Hartmann motorsport did a stage 4+ Audi S4 with about 450hp/520tq which one of the guys that works there's daily drive(some job). And it does drive like stock(I drove it). From what I heard and seen, its reliable as stock.

question is... does any out there having close to 500hp to the crank for( and drives like) a daily driver? How much is invested in that?

no. some of the very things that make the rx7 a great car makes it "unreliable" just gotta live with it.

The search works quite well if you key in the proper terms.

FD TSB's: http://www.rx7.org/public/3RD.html

As far as FD's making 500hp or more at the crank, you should asking in the Single Tubro section:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/forumd...?s=&forumid=23

Also, keep in mind that an Audi S4 weights in about 3600lbs. You are thinking about souping up a car that weights around 2800lbs. If you are trying to get the same type of performance, you won't need as much hp (horepower to car weight ratio). You would only need to be around 350hp on a FD for about the same performance.

As for reliability, if that's a concern, look else where. The FD is a pure sports car, period. You are also thinking about purchasing a car that is about 10 years old. Reliability should not be a concern if you are really looking for a pure sports car.

What exactly do you mean by track car?? An S4 or WRX track car?? What series and santioning body? If it is drag racing that is one thing, but for road racing you are looking at class restrictions you have to take into account. Just because a 400 horse RX7 is possible doesn't mean you will have a decent class to road race in. If it is drags and 400 horse is your goal that reliabilty is not a concern of yours
