ok guys, i have a downpipe and midpipe and a drop in knn filter on my rx7. I really feel that the car revs two quickly with just tapping on the pedal, i dont really need any boost, to speed up. Iam just tapping the pedal and my revs climb so fast, whats going on, the engine i feel is speeding up so quickly is that normal??? revs just keep on climbing with no boost whats that all about

Is the engine revving up when you tap the gas without pushing in the clutch? I can't really tell from your description, but it sounds like you need a clutch.

usually when you hit the gas pedal, the revvs are supposed to go up.

sounds like you need a new clutch to me too.. I agree with paw140... Do you hear the turbos when you give it gas in a gear? I am not sure if you will or not since you only have a drop-in filter. Also do it do this in every gear? like 1st, 2nd, etc?

if your revs keep on going up, and your car doesnt seem to be moving as much as it should, your clutch is probably slipping. get a new clutch.

if your revs keep on going up really fast like you say, and your car is accelerating accordingly, you should be happy that your fd is working properly. that only happens on rare occasion, so enjoy it while it lasts. go do something useful with it, like go smoke a rice rocket or something.

My car goes through the gears pretty quick... I always thought it was the flywheel because the car is suppost to have a lighter flywheel then most cars. Either that or it doesnt get traction and spins.

Clutch or lack there of. All revs and no speed = slipping clutch. All revs and speed = one bad *** car.
