-450mm of mercury at 700-800 rpm isn't horrible, and tells me that the motor is most likely ok.

Sounds like someone that knows about rotaries and FDs needs to get their hands on your car. I guess NJ is a bit far for you to bring it, find someone local as soon as possible.

vacuum leak...? that turns into a boost leak? you may hit peak boost still, but it could just be taking longer. Perhaps that is why you still get boost but it feels slower?

Total stab in the dark here.

well, I am just guessing at this, but what about the gasket in between the UIM and LIM (or anywhere in the intake tract for that matter. One of the flex tubes, coupler, etc. If one of those has a small leak, it could give you a little bit of a vacuum leak... I would think. and then when you are on the throttle, it would leak boost. Maybe the hole is still small enough so the turbos can compensate with more boost to give you 10psi... but it would take them longer to get there.. and they would be working much harder to do so.

Just a RAG (Random *** Guess)

Double check ALL of your vacuum lines and solenoids once you have the UIM off.

Edit - Also adjust your actuator arms while you have the hood popped.

its non sequential soo vacuum lines are pretty much gone!! but would you know how can i verify if my turbos are gone or on their way out? i mean on seq u can tell right away when your secondry turbo comes on and able to tell if it could be your turbo or not

I am thinking you have a small split in one of your couplers...

what all have you changed since you remember the car having more power?

maybe your intercooler has a crack in it somewhere - you pressure test it?

Yea i also installed one of those IC's and noticed a drop off in power... im not 100% but i think its soaking alot of heat from the radiator and heating intake air rather than cooling it... Yours ducted?

I have the pettit cool charge III duct for my XS. I don't see how that IC could get much cool air without a duct.

I can't image that a boost leak, air filter restriction, or cat backup, etc. are the issue, IF you're making boost as usual (spool and peak).

Is it perhaps just alot warmer out than it was 6 months ago?

not to steal the thread, but is this correct? the secondary creates the same psi,but more cfm? thats why theres a power increase at 4500(i havnt actually felt that yet....my secondary is still malfunctoning, lol)

yes. Same PSI, more air. The best way to think about it is with two straws - a really thin coffee stir straw, and a giant McDonalds straw. If you manage to run the same amount of pressure through each straw, it will take a lot less air to get the pressure up in the thin straw than it would to achieve the same pressure in the large straw.
