I had to get my car smogged and found out my air pump needed to be replaced. after I got it done, it still wouldn't pass smog. I took it back to the shop where I got it installed and found out that the harness on the air pump had wires exposed and was shorting out by touching the metal housing. I gave it an electrical tape job as a quick fix. Just thought it might be something to look for.
