some recent pics of the 7 (lots of pics)

This past Sunday, Tyler (fdsprockett on here) and I brought up our cars up to school for the afternoon. We snapped some pictures and drove around campus. Here are most of what we took. And yes I realize my car looks like 4X4, some H&Rs are on the winter's "to do" list.

And for those of you wondering, Tyler used to have an FD. After going through 3 or so motors he sold it, and picked up the Integra. Since Tyler has owned it, he's put on a custom T04E turbo kit that dynoed at 221WHP on Payne Technology's Mustang (I believe) dyno at only 5psi. Assuming some will call his car "rice" or a "downgrade", I am going to make things easier and label all that do clueless ahead of time.

Nice ride, good pics. I kinda like the last one, it looks like any gathering I go to, 'cause a good friend of mine has a silver GTI too and it's allways parked next to my seven.

X..

Looks nice, but I still don't get why you would put up pics with all the critics on this forum. Too much hate here anymore..

I'm so sick of this comment. At the end of the day, we all drive 10 year old mazdas. Plus that damn Honda is on it's original engine whereas how many of us are on our 3rd+ engine? You guys need to learn to respect nice and quick cars no matter what they are.

Thanks for the complement, but unfortunately I cannot recall what precisely was done as the previous owner did the interior. Sorry!

I completely agree, the way I percieve this recent trend is that the majority browsing the 3rd gen section have some sort of interest in FDs. Furthermore, this interest was likely sparked simply from the car in stock form. This relates to my car given it's nearly stock apearance. To post negative feedback on a car thats basically has a nearly factory appearance completely defies such thinking, and is quite condesending and hypocritical IMO. Regardless though, there is always going to be something that can be knit-picked. There are plenty of things on my car that leave me unsatisfied, but that's just the way it is. Regarding the negative posts toward member's cars, I think some may have lost an appreciation (or never had it to begin with) of the car itself. Now of course this is debatable, and I do dislike some of the things I've seen with FDs. But everything aside, a simple "that's not my taste but nice car" will suffice. So all in all, I am open to comments from either side of the spectrum.

I suppose that is one way of looking at it. However, thats not my opinion. I personally feel that Honda makes quality automobiles, now these may not be performance oriented aside the NSX, S2000, ITR. But they do an excellent job at what they are intended for. And to discuss Honda as an auto manufacturer in that connotation I think is offbased, especially considering that they continually perform highly in the pinnacle of motorsports, meaning Formula 1, in which they have been a top contender for decades. But aside from that, I am like everyone else with a clue - When I see a ricer I can't help but shake my head and wonder "why?"

I kind of take offense to people who call me a ricer just because of stereotypes and stupid crap related with Honda and Acura cars and some of the idiots who own them. I consider myself to be the "anti-ricer" - that is, every time I see rice I laugh at it and shake my fist angrily at it. I hate cars that have been modified poorly...with a terrible sense of style and little attention to under-the-hood enhancements (the only kind that matter to me).

Now, I bought the car in a little more riced up fashion...granted, I have seen MUCH MUCH worse around these parts, but the car HAD a body kit on it, which I took off to go to a more stock look. I DID put the carbon fiber hood on, but hey - that was a style decision by me comparable to putting a Scoot, Knightsports, or Mazdaspeed hood on an FD. The hood I got was very good quality, and it weighs almost 60% less than the stock hood, giving it function along with form. The rest of the car is basically all business - although not taken too seriously. It's no monster, I'll agree...but it's decent - and that's what I was looking for.

So, I cannot understand why people want to call my car rice and me a ricer just because of manufacturers. It's a very ignorant thing to do, especially since I have tried my hardest to separate myself from the stereotype. There will never be a huge wing, altezzas, neons, graphics, etc. on this or any other car I own. I hate that stuff. I'm 80% performance oriented and 20% appearance, rather than the 100% tacky appearance orientation of ricers. I appreciate the words from my friend Ryan and the other member who supported me - the others who talk trash just really seem ignorant about the whole thing.

i dont hate hondas..... they are built very well and the in my opinion the best family cars to have! good gas mileage unlike our cars but when you try to make a car something its not, thats really stupid!! if it were an nsx, i would understand.... nut not a civic or integra! they are just family cars!!! leave it at that!

i like the engine bay. Without all the stock stuff in the way, looks real nice. So much room there for air.

I think it's a clean, well done car. I wouldn't worry too much about the haters on this forum anymore. Your car could probably spank half of them, with much greater reliablity than they will ever know.

I dig the under the hood stuff, and anyone that has put the effert to put a little extra power down is cool to me, be a honda, toyota, chevy, or whatever. And remember, mazda has its little ricer part as well as others, and i have seen some really "Rice" Rx7's as well. But dude, the tires are killen the look. lol
