Looks good Paul, first time I get a chance to see that oil tank there. At least it actually does something...

I certainly hope you don't have an A'pexi wastegate as well as that BOV...if you do, have a nice little chat with Maxcooper regarding his experiences with the unit!

Looks like the Garfinkle torque brace. Here's a link to a discussion about it: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...t=torque+brace

Thumbs up

Lookin' good Paulie. These are the first pics I've seen of your rex. She looks like she's floating on air......time for some springs . Also, that catch can looks like a quality piece, but seems to be pretty close to the compressor. Does it heat up much after some hard driving?

haha, thanks for the feedback, guys!!!!

yes, the brace is a garfinkle unit. i live down the road so why wouldnt i go with the superior piece.

i was afraid the oil can would get a bad deal. the color makes me sick. haha. the omp is blocked off using the rotaryaviation block-off/reroute plate. it has a fitting on it that allows you to run an external source of lubricant to the apex seals. whatever you want. . . kool-aid for all i care. haha. i run synthetic 2cycle oil. . . why? cause it burns cleaner than conventional oil. ashless AAAAAAAAND its a new oil every time its injected. not recirculated "dirty" oil thats been to the heats of hell (aka rotary engine heat) for about a million cycles. it only makes since. the tank does get a little hot, but what does that do to the oil? it only makes it move easier. haha, just cause it gets a little transfer heat doesnt mean its bad after that. . . a whole lot better than that crap the stocker puts in there. the tank was my design made by david garfinkle. its all braised together. theres an oil catch can integrated into the back side of it. works out well.

the wastegate is hks. . . i already know about the apexi unit. my bov might go onto the market sometime in the future. . . it sounds weird. haha.

4x4 mod. . . ill be hitting the dirt track next season. haha, i have some eibach springs that im actually afraid to put on. my driveway resembles the hills i had to march up/down at ft. knox during basic training. . . heartbreak. . . that was the mother fizznucker. haha, snoop dog is the man!!!

did anybody notice the vaccum hardlines that i made that run along the flange of the UIM/LIM? i made those and theyre byfar my best work yet. hahaha, i love em to death. . . no flopping around and all that crud.

if you wanna see some real engine bay pics ill have to get davids permission to let you see his. its a masterpiece. if you can find any of the vaccum lines then let me know. theyre hard to spot and hell make sure theyre tucked away in the future. haha.

thanks,
paul

The lines look really nice, very proffesional. They must look good since no one noticed them.

The torque brace looks awesome BTW. I can't wait to get mine in now.

cool, thanks!!! oh, i noticed that someone mentioned that they didnt use ALL the bolts on the fender mount. that could make the mount rock. . . . and eventually pull the bottom side of the mount away from the fender. doesnt seem to good, eh. since the link mount is at the upper side, the compression will occur with more force at that point. this will cause the bottom side to want to pull away. soooooooo, lets install things the way there are meant to be installed. haha.
