This.

Supras aren't even close to how bad their market is compared to fd's.

Look at their values still for gods sake. Some people want to sell their na-t, not even a real tt with over 150k chassis miles for 25k etc. And the reason why it sells because people buy them even though in many eyes, that's prob worth 17-18 at best.

Supras are more we'll kept. The owners are very meticulous and very tedious when it comes with anything associated with the car.

Only the sc'ed were called terminators. Iirc 03-04 years only.

My guess is because of the supercharger. Which resembles the arnolds/terminators' chainsaw gun in part 1 of the terminator movie. Lol idk.

Im sure of you google it you'll get a real answer.

they call it the terminator because it was suppose to "terminate" the competition.

to the OP, I picked up a rather rough fd two months ago. it is an extremely beautiful car, with lots of top end power. the irs cobras don't handle as bad as everyone says, its not a gokart like the FD, though. looks like you have a drag setup. In the time I've had my fd, I'm already tired of dumping money into it.

They both get looks and complements where ever I go. I am a little biased since the the 03 has been in the family since new.

you can't go wrong with either car, really.

I think you'll like the parts availibilty and affordability of the cobra.

Yep it was dubbed.the terminator by the svt team as a code name. They are also believed to have put the hp lower than actual. Much like the zr1 blue devil code name.

The Cobra's current setup is pretty well just street strip, which is fine by me, honestly. I don't do much, if any, road racing. I just like drag racing and cruising. I can do both and then some in the 7 as well...Plus I'm already pretty familiar with a 7. The Cobra still feels strange to me, even though I've had it for about 8 months...

Everyone comes back, its hard to find a car thats more fun than the FD.

Terminators are cool too though but I wouldn't personally ever buy one. That motor is a beast though, can take 700+whp stock.

I have had 3 FD's (sold and had to have another one) and one Mustang (owner for life). Muscle cars give you a certain feeling. No matter how hard I am on the Stang, I never fear anything going wrong. Every time I abuse the "7" I find myself doing A LOT more checking before cutting it off lol.

My recommendation is to get a 2012 Shelby GT 500 and be done with it! I would wait until the perfect FD popped up for the right price and snag it. People get a ragged out FD and end up sad!

Twincharged7 is much further along than i am, but we are the only 2 that i know of on this forum anyways working on twin charged rotaries at the moment. once upon a time there was a picture posted of a 20B twin charged with twin turbos but who knows what ever came of it, which of course got the wheels turning.

Been there, just other way around. i gave up my terminator to get the m3 so i could have something economical (kind of)and make fd ownership more realistic. the 12mpg was rough. the cobra was fun. insane torque, but a nose heavy pig as mentioned here already. They can be made to handle, full weld in sfc, every bushing swapped, and coilovers makes a big difference. still no where the same as the fd though,. It was a fun car to have for a bit but i would never go back.

Terminators are bad ***. I wanted one a while back when I was dreaming of what my next sports car would get... when I was broke I'd say get another FD if you can afford it and keep the Termi, or just enjoy the cobra til you're bored to tears of it or are really feeling the FD urge. I've seen some vids of them running pretty damn good on the track (yes not just drag strip )

Honestly I think you made the right choice in picking up the Cobra. Its apparent your into drag racing so the Cobra was the much better platform. Sure the 7 can do very well in drag too but why cripple such a thoroughbred sports car with something as singular as drag racing.

lol yeah, its called torque.

Once i got a ride in my friends vette a couple of years ago, i was hooked. I wanted a car with a v8 in it. Didnt want to swap one in the FD, didnt want just any v8 car. Could have gotten a vette but i needed a car i could daily drive, with a backseat and can park on the street since the FD holds the only spot in the driveway.

Looked at stangs, ones that people turbo'ed, newer model ones that people sc'ed. Looked at terminators and also went to go test drive one and i couldnt do it. I couldnt drive a car that i see everyday. While i dont see terminators everyday, i see that body mustang still, everyday.
Then i fell back on the GTO. Was always interested in them, even when they first came out. Couldnt justify myself spending 34k for one though, thank god i got mine for half of that. Got myself a nice rare color, got myself the last year, 2006, which had the revamped exhaust, ls2, nice blue cluster with black interior. I was happy so i bought it.

I only had this car a couple of months and its a blast to drive, yes even if its still stock. And i love this car. Its not quite the same love i have for the FD but i still love it enough to give it the same care i give the FD, minus parking it on the street lol. I have no choice but to park it on the street

I cant wait to install my exhaust next week though. I can hear my car but i want everyone to hear it lol.

it saddens me when i hear all the stories of unreliable 7's.

granted it took years in restoration but my 7 is one of the most reliable cars i've owned. then again simplification and a standalone helped in leaps and bounds with that. all that sits under the hood is the little dinky engine, single turbo, intercooler and radiator and some bits of wiring.

hell, just had the kid grabbing for something to hold onto a few hours ago..(don't even say it you sickos!)

I've owned both man. My last lineup of cars before the FD was a 95 Cobra KB supercharged, forged 306 running 6's in the 1/8th. After that was a 03 Cobra, traded for a 01 WS6 Trans Am and now the FD. Honestly i bought the car with every intention of doing a LS2/T56 swap, but now that i have the car I love it. I have never had so much fun in a car or got so many compliments in a car. I love it and will never go back to any of the others. I like the suprise factor of it. I like it being rare. Yeah you got a terminator, guess what its still a MUSTANG with a different motor. Go to a parking lot anywhere and look around, I bet your not the only Mustang there... I'll be the only FD there majority of the time.
