Sold my FD, bought an 03 Cobra, now?
I have a 600whp KB Cobra now, and I love it, but I still miss the FD. Anyone else go through this? Really considering selling it to pay off a couple other things, and pick up another FD in a few months...Thoughts?

Not the company
Two different kinds of cars; both with their advantages and disadvantages. I don't think you can go wrong with the Mustang, but i still think having an FD is better.
For comparison's sake, here's an old pic of my two cars together.....

Lol proof once again that people keep the fd mainly cause its rare lol.
To the op. Try to keep the Stang and get an fd. I know how you feel. I sold my boring yet super reliable altima for another toy, an 06 GTO 6spd. While both the goat and fd are 2 entirely different cars, both have their ups and downs. The gto has an assload of usable torque. Something an fd will never have ever, idc what turbo you have. Unless you have an ls in your fd, you wont know what its like to have the torque of a v8. And that's what I love about daily driving. I don't ever have to rev past 4k rpm to drive. Just rowing the gears to 3500rpm and Im way ahead of the pack in city driving.
But the fd is great for those nice weekends where whereever you going, even if its just driving aimlessly, is like a race track ahead of you lol. That's how I feel when I take it out. I still get excited cause the car feels and sounds like a real race car. A race car you take to the track. Since I don't track my car, I just pretend im tracking it minus the crazy aggressive driving. I just play around a bit

i think it is possible, but we are talking more twin charged setups which so far have not really caught on. perhaps i am a dreamer but i do believe you can have a rotary with torque as well. whether the engine can handle it, time will tell. i have been holding off a bit because i think i'm going to crack open my block and pin it before finishing up the setup.

Your going through withdrawal symptoms. My opinion is a KB induced Cobra isnt going to give you the satisfaction of owning a FD. I too have a Panty Dropper 500whp supercharged car that is comparable to yours but i would never give the FD up for it.
Part of the reason is bc i have owned it for a long time so there's sentinmental value. There's a also a unique bond between us third gen owners that dont exist much with other car types. Couple that with the fact the car is rare as someone above pointed out. Hey these arent porsches or ferraris or someother exotic, but the reality is we take a lot of pride in these cars.
Secondly consider how fun the rotary gatherings are, the people that own these cars. I would have never thought that I would know at least 50 people personally with a 3rd gen? These cars are still on the road 17-18 years later? Where are the 300Zs, the 3000GTs, SVX? Even the majority of the Supras I see out there are ragged to hell. All of the above cars exceeded FD production numbers and/or model years. Sure some of these are still around, but how many are taken care of?
BTW Wasn't that White FD from Florida?

I knew you would get that itch to come back... Your a true ROTARD at heart.
It was sad to see you let go of your FD after all that work.
She was set up to run like a beast.
Take your time if you do decided to get back into the FD.
Find a car already done, that way you can just enjoy it.
Or you could upgrade to a RX-8 like mine

Go ahead, shoot with your thoughts. I'm curious now.

The great thing about the Terminator Cobras is the instant torque. It's far better torque than a naturally aspirated LSx or other n/a V8. Unfortunately they are pretty nose-heavy as far as handling goes, the wheelhop sucks (unless you swap to solid axle), and it takes a lot of power/torque to make up for the weight.
I really like the seats on them. I hate that stupid shifter found on all those older Mustangs.

if i had to get rid of my fd for a car around its priice range it would be a nsx, supra, sti, or evo. Right now im looking to get a sti for family practicality reasons but never the less the cars i listed are far more of a car than that of a cobra. dont get me wrong i like the cobras but for the moneys id rather pick up something different. Nice cobra tho

Now i own 2 rare cars. While the goat is insanely heavy (3800lbs lol), the stock 400/400 power setup is awesome for everyday and still be reliable to all hell. Ill be installing my exhaust next week and an intake is going in before spring (going to hibernate it with the FD), after my tune i should see another 30rwhp with just an intake and exhaust and a tune. Not damn bad. Gotta love V8's for that lol.
And yes the mustang shifter is soo retarded lol. Its like the shifter is where the coin tray is and the gear stick and **** is curved so you dont know what you have lol. Some people say its for accurate speed shifting, which makes sense because there are aftermarket short shifters for the GTO that has the same crooked shift lever.
