soft pedal

Has anyone changed out the spring on their throttle linkage? If so, what did you go with and why? The spring on my ride is too soft to feel any feedback when I'm pushing on it. Thanks

my pedal is 11 years old and i admit i slam it to the floor every now and then and it still has resistance like its supposed to. I don't really think changing the spring in the TB linkage is a really big issue unless you take it apart and lose it. Maybe your foot got fatter?

Thanks J. Now I've got to find a spring that's a lot firmer. I just don't know if factory replacement will due or if I need another cars' spring all together. Thanks though.

just get an dealer part. Make sure they just sell you that spring lol. a dealer replacement should do. just make sure you clarify with them what you need. i.e. see the picture you are buying, since im pretty sure ull have theyll have to order it. But there may be a change they dont sell just that spring... so getting a new linkage from a TB at a junkyard may work.

Make sure there isn't just a lot of slop in the throttle cable that makes it feel soft. That's a possibility.

You can also tighten the spring on the throttle body another turn, but that could be too tight. But, somebody in the past may have disconnected the return spring and didn't tension it properly, so going another turn might put it where it should be.
