So whatever happened with that anti-detonation device? You know, the one where you remove half your plugs and somehow get more power through tuning even though you're saddled with less efficient combustion?

Anybody buy those things and get tuned or was this another case where everyone was on the "Modification of the Week" band wagon?

I never saw anyone post any positive results. Perhaps there were none, and the people who tried them were too embarrased to admit it.

Home Depot sells them for only a few cents in the nuts and bolts section. Those machined pieces were overpriced! If you replace all 4 plugs with them, you won't ever detonate!

The original anti det device (not the stolen and attempted copied one) is still being sold and tuned through KD Rotary. There are still a bunch of cars driving around with the anti det device installed on and tuned for in there cars. Mine included. I dont know if I heard of any people recently who have blown a motor with them in. Puting down 435 rwhp and 390 pounds of torque on my t78

Fastcarfreak,

Yes, I do believe KDR keeps all their dynos. You should bug Dave to send it to you via email. After you get it, please post it for us all to enjoy! What boost level was it at?

Also, is the device KDR installs the same basic concept as the plugs that PG Unlimited was selling? I'd like to know if what KDR offers is the same or not.

I tested them for a while but never did any dyno tuning. The car ran great with them in, but didnt really push it. I still have them if someone else wants to test them out.

Send them to me and I'll test them on my stock car. I got a 20b waiting to go in the car anyways.

"Device" per say? Not!...
Modifying your spark plug wires and tuning. Is more like it...

Wasn't there a thread a few months back (before the anti-det thread) where someone w/ the KD anti-det device had a 1300cc injector stick on him, and he still blew his engine?

Yeah, but try keeping ANY engine from blowing up with a stuck injector. You may as well dump sand in your engine at that point.
