so my FD is sold...
^^^^wow i'm surprised you even picked up on the orange/red paint. i wasn't even able to when i bought the car. i just thought it was vintage red until i noticed the paint on the inside of the engine bay. maybe my color sight is messed.
I work in a school, and I can tell you right now there is no 16 year old in the entire district that should be allowed to drive anything near a FD. There are rare examples of 16 years olds that have great parents who've learned from their parents and experience to drive responsibly before getting a license. This however, is extremely rare. In my drivers class I was the only one out of 40 kids that had ever driven before. These kids were going on and on about how they were getting Mustangs from their uncles, Trans Ams, blah blah. Can you say accident waiting to happen? It's no wonder our insurance is so high! Now add a FD to the mix, a car that with little modification is in super-car class getting 400HP+ and near 200MPH speeds. They are NOT your mom's sedan. Everyone still following?
The simple fact of the matter is that a 20+ year old is [hopefully] going to have more wisdom than a 16 year old. There is a serious difference between knowledge and wisdom. Remember that.
That said my 16 year old brother will not touch my car. He's scared to death of it, and should be. He's much happier with his '78 CJ-5 he was brilliant to save up for and fix. That's chalking up wisdom before his time.
