Check out the pics on rotaryresurrection.com - even if the apex seals are damaged, I'd expect the rebuild to include a lot of new parts.

plan on $2000 in parts, plus labor, for just about any rebuild
and the remans just went up in price

Depends how bad the leak is and how long it's been sitting. Personally, I wouldn't bother with a rebuild anyways unless I wanted to preserve some well-ported housings. Might as well buy a reman otherwise.
I've had a motor with a blown coolant seal sitting for more than 6 months, and aside from replacing the fouled plugs, it took nothing to fire it up and it ran like a beast. Drove the hell out of it on the track all weekend, and it ran perfectly fine at normal temps. It all really depends on the severity of the leak.
