That's how it looks around my strut towers too. I don't think it's a weld, it's soft. I can push down on it with my finger nail. Seems more like a seam sealer like turbojeff says.

It looks to me that the car has been repaired. It was in an accident that damaged the fender apron beyond repair. Although the replacement apron probably included the strut tower, the repair shop used the seam surrounding it to seperate the two panels, thus avoiding the need to disassemble all the suspension components. And to reinterate what turbojeff said, all welded seams have sealer from the factory. But while I can put a fingernail mark in my factory seam sealer, it isn't all that soft. As far as the fabric covers on the fenders, I don't know. It might be possible to duplicate them. It's probably more likely that the fender was repaired and those just managed to stay intact.

LOL... you dug it back from the grave... forget that dealership... I already bought a really nice black on black 5 speed...I looked 7 months for this Car... ALL 99 speced out like it just came from Japan...40K on the car... the owner even put in 99 spec turbos /w less then 2.5K on them... will post pics soon in a thread.

he is giving me the original stock turbo as well...if anyone wants to buy them pm me... nothing is wrong with them...

i'm so happy I took the advice of fellow members... this place is a gold mine

Took the words right out of my mouth. It is really noticeable on light colored cars as Ramy stated. It is very noticeable at the quarterpanel seams with the rear bumper off.
