FL So the GF was driving the FD...and

So I decided to let the gf drive the FD last night and well yeah she was in a parking lot and did this making a circle. Apparently she didn't see there was a drainage swell and yeah ran right off the main road into the swell at about 5 miles per hour.

Thank god the car is fully insured. New front bumper and lip on order. Wonder if I'll get a new Mazda emblem or if they keep the old one. Hmmmmm

You should get the 99 spec while you're at it.

I was def thinking of going 99 spec! Any clue where I can find them? And do they already come with lights or will I need to order those separately?

I would try and contact FDNewbie, but he seems to have disappeared from the Earth. David Jerome sometimes gets some in. If all that fails then you could probably find them at RHDjapan.com

You would need to buy the lights separately. You can just get some non OEMs off of Ebay. They are basically the same thing. Also, if you don't want to replace the Re-bar you could just modify your stock rebar.

There are a few places that sell the 99 front.
Pettit has one inFG that has no plate on it.
Also... the lights are seperate... about $300 for the set...

You may also need a new undertray, air guide, and brake duct(s)

That's why I don't let anyone drive my FD. Now she owes you big time, reciprocal action requires equal reaction.

All that time that now requires you to fix it because of her, needs to be "recovered" Equal time in the sack is now warranted!

The '99 front can be had from CorkSport and others. It will be cheaper to stay stock and get a new fascia and maybe the '99 lip.

Make sure your A/C and oil cooler are still ok.

My G/F doesn't even know how to drive standard. This story makes me glad that is the case.

Corksport has them and the lights are separate. you can modify your stock undertray to work with the bumper.

just go through insurance and have them cut you a check for the stock parts that need replaced...and then buy the parts you want instead aftermarket is almost always cheaper than stock. rx7.com sells most everything for 99 spec.

what the hell is that red stuff?

for the time being, you can get a professional detailer to buff most of it out to be less noticable. until you can source out your new bumper and lip.

Letting your girl friend drive your rx7 is like one of us getting behind the wheel
of an F1 car. Yeah it looks sweet, but doesn't mean we can drive it

My Wife is scared of the car, because she knows how much it means to me... and the hell (Silence) she'd get if anything happened on her watch...

But she's driven it several times due to necessity, when I wasn't feeling well or I had one too many... but it's rare, and she always drives @ or below the speed limit

'99 Spec and all accessories can be had from RX-7store.net last time I checked which was a while ago...

I let my ex-gf drive my FD one time when it was auto because I wanted her to see why I'm obsessed(moderately of course).....she was terrified and didn't even touch boost...I had to almost demand her to bring the car up to 4500....and she even had some guys in a prelude try and race her...I had a great laugh.

My current gf has driven the FD one time in a completely empty parking lot and she didn't once even shift to 2nd. Just let the clutch out slowly and cruise around at like 10 mph making the occasional turn her and there. She had a big smile the whole time...ha, but she told me she likes it better from the passenger seat.

Won't let ANYONE ever take the FD unsupervised....my dad did manage to "steal" it one day while I left it outside in the driveway with the keys in it (I was working on it)...I literally came out and **** my pants while my jaw hit the floor....I kinda just stared in shock for like 3 minutes...then saw him driving down the block.
