it's an automatic. Don't get it unless you can't drive a stick.

The car is clean enough that it is worth it to convert it. Most 5spd cars are either trashed or overpriced. I want an unmolassed 3rd gen, not a beater. If it is clean to me, I am willing to do a conversion on it. I know thats another reason why the car went for so cheap.

I can drive standard, I just dont like the other 5 spds available.

Hit up Autotrader and the For Sale forum. I just bought my car a little under a month ago, and I had about 5-6 VERY clean, low mileage, near stock 5-speeds to choose from within about 1000 miles from my home. Be willing to drive - I drove from Pensacola, FL to Knoxville, TN for my car, about an 8 hour drive. I got a 67,000 mile black '94 R2 for $14,700.

On Autotrader, do a search for any distance, then when the results come back sort by distance and start with the cars nearest to you. Be willing to drive, and you'll find plenty of nice cars.

But, I did find my car forsale here on the forum .

If you have your heart set on that car on Ebay, call up the dealership that was listing it and see what they can do.

What's your budget like? It's MUCH easier to find a clean car if you go up to about $15k as well. I financed my car with Capital One auto finance - 6.2% interest, and a 60 month loan. Payments are about $290 a month.

Just because they are out of your price range, that doesn't mean they are overpriced. There are plenty of non-trashed and non-overpriced FD's easily found.

BS, most of them are either highly modified or crashed multiple times. I would rather buy a new car than to deal with the mess

BUT ITS AUTO!

i had the oppurtunity to buy a beautiful 93 touring black on tan 5 speed with some very tasteful mods and a fresh rebuilt motor for 13,500... the seller alllowed me to drive around conneticut with him as passenger for over 2 hours in the car, to get a real feel for it, and even told me to race (and smoke) a e46 m3 in it.. one of the best days of my life

I didnt say I will leave it auto forever. If the car is clean and I think it is worth it, it will definitely get a 5 spd sway

Engine is being built and should be ready in 2 months..

I would like someone to commit to it now ($11k) otherwise, I'll be selling it for 13-14k.

He wants to try to get an auto for 10,500 and do a conversion. The convert is at LEAST 1000. For another 1000 he does not need to butcher up a car, and have a great running car. I swear I think people expect us to give away these cars.
