Snail clamp around oil filter
Has anyone ever heard of putting a snail clamp around the oil filter to help it filter it better? I think I was watching a motoring video of the type R and I saw that they had a snail clamp around their filter. I wonder does it really help.

Do you mean one of those magnetic rings you put around an oil filter that are supposed to keep metal particles in the oil filter?
The way I see it, the weakness in the oiling system isn't metallic. It's a fairly high level of fuel contamination in the oil, and the fact that even when you change the oil a good amount of old oil is left in the oil cooler(s). That's why 3,000 mile oil changes are part of our religion.

Agreed
Like said many times in the past, there are far too many other things you should be worrying about than the type of oil filter you put on your car as the oil filter never being a cause to any problem nowadays. Especially if you do the normal change every 3k/3 months.
