Unhappy Smoking hardcore - Help me! Turbos or elsewhere?

Alright, i've had my turbos replaced in my rx-7 twice now, the first time they were replaced they had started smoking, then leaking oil like a siv(civ? can't spell that word). Had new carts. put on it and had them put back on. Well, they never stopped smoking but I figured it was because I hadn't cleaned out my intercooler from the previous landslide of oil. I clean it out etc, i'm STILL getting a ton of smoke out the rear and im also still getting smoke near the turbo area. I can't tell where it's at exactly from said area but im going to check it out tomorrow during the day light since it will be a good clear day.

Other random issues i've had is that my spark plugs get fouled pretty fast as well as there being oil on them also.

Since the turbos had been switched out I had given the car an oil/coolant change hoping to flush out whatever was in there. Apparently though this didn't really do much.

Not real sure what to do about the car now. I just picked up a PFC to help tone everything i've got down as far as getting the right fuel, the ability to tune the car etc.

My friend who's a pretty darn good mechanic (at least I think so) was the one who had the turbos previously and had ported them and polished them nicely. His previous track record with these cars was spot on so i'm just hoping it's something randomly happening that got outta whack.

I'd take the car back to him, but he doesn't work with rx-7's so much as a job anymore and doesn't really have much time to mess with them.

I'm just looking for some hints/helpful tidbits/SOMETHING that I can check or look out for that may be causing my issues. What would a blown motor feel like on an FD? Could that be it? I've not had the experiance of an FD blown motor but I have on an FC. It doesn't really feel like that so much but i'm not sure what im supposed to be looking for.

nah, i don't think this is blown turbos (or engine using a strict definition).
where is the smoke coming from EXACTLY - exhaust? turbo? tailpipe?
what colour is the smoke?
when it leave oil like a sieve (thats how you spell it) - where was that from?

ported your turbos? god i hope you mean wastegate!
if you've replaced them twice, and it is still the same problem, then the turbos weren't your problem - i'd suspect maybe you have an oil leak IN your engine - rotor oil seals would be my first guess.

yeah, i've read your post again - rotor oil seals is my money for sure - the spark plugs just scream that there is excess oil in your combustion chamber.
rebuild to get to those...

i don't know what that'd do to your oil pressure, maybe someone who's experienced this can tell you to be sure.

Well, the turbos we're SERIOUSLY leaking oil bad. Think he said my rear turbo oil seal went bad.

Well, the smoke that comes out is blueish. So i'm not sure what that would mean.

As far as the oil goes, there was just a ton of oil coming OUT of my blow-off valve when the turbos went kaput.

I haven't changed the oil again since I cleaned out the intercooler. I'll have to do that again on saturday when I have the ability to get my car into my garage(let a friend keep his car there for a bit while he was moving).

Just looking for ideas to try out on the car so anything is helpful mate. Thanks.

oil out the ABV?! god damn man!
blueish is oil smoke... you're right on that front.

i think this is an internal engine issue... turbo's would be my number two culprit.

Yeah, everytime i'd press in on it BEFORE he replaced the cartirdges in the turbos they would spit oil from my BOV.

Wish I knew how to diagnose if that was the culprit or not... and then figuring out how much it'd cost to get the motor rebuilt if that was the case and by whom.

I like things happening in a timely matter now a days so if i forked over my engine+ a couple grand for something i'd really appreciate getting back my stuff within a few weeks period of time :/

Not looking forward to having to remove my engine etc all over again though, that's just a kick in the pants.

That's if its the engine completely dying on me.

Oh yeah, and if the oil seals are the issue how do you know for sure? Is there any sure fire way to find out?

I am no epert but lately my car began smoking a bit with the smoking adding as time went by.

After I started find oil out of the BOV again always increasing as time went by.

My car never ideled right always above 1000rpm.

I checked with my specilist and we found out that both the intake and outgoing coolant pipes to the choke were cloged.

Might be part of the problem even if I suspect it more serious but if I did not notice and take care of it it would have resulte in much worse I can assure you.

I just had a problem with oil in my turbos/intake/IC and it was mostly from my oil metering nozzles going bad, and having oil sucked through the vaccum to the intake pipe infront of the primary turbo. I found out it was them by making a homemade catch can and placing it in the vaccum line between the nozzles and the primary turbo inlet.

This may be some of your problem but there would have to be something else to go along with it because I never had fouled plugs, just a good bit of oil in the intake track/turbos, not to mention the OMP doesn't pump tremendous amounts of oil, just enough to get messy.

Found the smoking issue, it's coming from the front turbo. Hmm.

And now, oil is coming outta my blow off valve again. Don't think it's the engine this time.
