Cool smoking, bucking and surging--and high oil pressure

here's the deal:
the car smokes at 7-8000 RPM's, sometimes bucks and surges. And has oil pressure that goes from 40 to 120 in one second!
Car also has battery drain. Am thinking this could be drawing the volts down below 11 and cutting off injector pulse. If anybody else can/has dealt with this and has any ideas let me know---THANKS!

i may be able to help you with 3 of 4...

i've been having bucking/surging problems for a few months now - check out my post here: https://www.rx7club.com/vforums/show...threadid=13094

i'm pretty sure i've found the solution, but then again....

i don't think i smoke above 7000rpm, but i usually shift at 7k, and don't go past it, so i can't help you there.

for the oil pressure, you may just have a dirty/bad oil sending unit. my pressure likes to shoot all over the place when i get on the throttle, and lately it'll read really low at idle, even though I KNOW there's plenty of oil in my engine. did some research and asked a few q's, and found out it's a pretty common problem. i'm told i should try cleaning it up or replacing it, and my whacky oil pressures should go away. i also think mine's leaking a bit, and since the leak showed up, i've been getting the weird pressure readings.

hope that helps.
