I dont get any smoke at WOT or decel. I also tried the "hold the engine at 4K rpm for at least 30 seconds and let off" test. I didnt get any smoke at all then either.

RE Suzuki: what did you have to do for the warranty? and why did it take sooo long?

I have replaced my turbos before (old engine) and there was more oil in the pipes/intake then and it didnt smoke like this. There isnt very much oil in the intake trac at all. there is some...a light coating on the inside of the pipes...no pools of oil or anything.

some of it is condensation, but the majority of it is not. This has been going on from January until now...so even in the middle of the day during the summer.

There is nothing left for me to replace on this car except for the turbos (may or may not be bad) and the engine. engine has 7000 miles on it.

maybe its just the hot side of my turbos that is starting to go bad...but then why would it all of a sudden start with the new engine and not show signs on the old engine?

Im calling Mazda before it is too late since it is still under warranty and it has done this since the first time I cranked the new engine.

dont worry about it . a little dark smoke when you first start is the norm, just as longs as it goes away after a short while. could just be fuel smoke

It starts to smoke after 20-30 seconds of idle and doesnt go away until I drive the car. (it wont go away on its own) and then it will return if I let it idle for a bit. it also comes back on a warm start...50C or so (it seems worse on warm starts). and wont go away until I drive it.

injectors are fresh and dont leak...FPR replaced...etc.

Im at the end of my ropes with this issue. I am going insane. lol. Nobody seems to know the answer. Its so bad that I WANT an LS1 or sell the damn thing.

I'm not the best and I am new to rotary

In page 2 u mention that your Air/fuel is 11:1 to 11:8 even 12:0 kinda rich for idle from everything I have seen its usally 13:5 to 14:7 for idle and from there it will start to richin up all the way too boost

you mention the car died after you tried to lean it out little when hit 12:0 -12:8 I want to say it's timing issue but I don't know for sure

What type of EMS do u have ?

I had your EXACT same problem... the smoke on startup that wouldnt go away until I drove it, and comes back if left to idle for a while (kinda embaressing while sitting at traffic lights).
I swapped the twins out for another set of used ones and as if by magic, the problem went away...

Those twins bit the dust 3 months later and I used it as an excuse to rebuild and go single After taking the twins out and putting them back in again once before, there was no way I was going to do it again!

The smoke will pretty much be there until I start boosting a good bit. Last night, I got back from a run against a Z06 and pulled in the parking lot and noticed that my car was not smoking a single bit. It was dark, but I didnt even see any when a set of headlights went by it. I didnt let it idle for too long, so I didnt get to see if it came back (im sure it would have though eventually).

There have been a couple other times where it has stopped completely when the turbos were nice and hot.
