SMIC Without Battery Removal

I'm in the market for a SMIC and need to see a picture of one without the battery being removed. I want to have both hoses mounted at the top and not one on top and one on bottom. I called the rx-7store and they sent me to the forum for pics. I want the medium ASP but they only show pictures of the large ASP. I like the way the hoses run from the top instead of one on top and one on bottom. I'm willing to get a smaller yellow top and trim the battery box down, but I'm not willing to relocate the battery from the stock location. If anyone has any ideas, pictures or advice please post.

Either that or you could just get the Odessy dry cell battery from rotary extreme and get the ASP large. Just a suggestion.

^ my car with the ASP large and PC680 odessey battery, fits extremely tight but well. It's not in the picture there but it fits right in that spot with about ~1cm gap haha

The Medium IC, for your refrence, will fit with mostly any battery on the market, even stock I believe.

But you cannot use a cool air intake as seen in the first pic, which is with a medium and stock sized battery. If you want to install a large ic, you will need an intake system like Apex'i, open cones, and the Odyssey small battery kit.

I have a large ic for sale, BTW, as I had intended to istall it in my FD, but discovered the combination of cool air inatke and small battery kit do not work in combo with it. I have since bought a medium ic.

The ASP/M2 medium will not fit with a full sized stock battery depending on which intake you go with. I have tried to make it work with a M2 cold air intake and the ASP med IC and no dice. Your only options are relocating the battery or going to a smaller sized battery. The turbojeff battery tray is an exellent choice. PM him about availability.

Given your criteria, the ASP medium and the PFS are the only two options. Either way, I would still get Jeff's battery tray and run a 51R battery.

On my previous FD, a '93, I ran the M2 box, the ASP medium, and a stock battery. The ic rubbed on the airbox a little, but after some shifting it fit. I eventually changed the battery, but not because of fit problems.

The medium will fit fine with the stock battery and an M2 airbox. I can't speak for anything sold by someone else though. It is a tight fit as it was made to have all three fit together using all the space available.

I stand corrected. My fitting the ASP med with the "airpump friendly" pipe has me at a loss. The curves in the pipe prevent me from aligning the IC correctly to the duct shifting it over towards the battery preventing me from installing the IC correctly. To remedy my problem i have decided to go with the turbojeff 51R battery tray to make up for the misaligning towards the battery. My apollogys to the people who i said it wont fit.

What do you mean by "both hoses"? Are you talking about the pipping? Well Greddy SMIC works great but it doesn't have both pipes up top if that what you mean. Check the pic.

The Reason for the two hose at the top is because it looks better for car shows. I'm still having problems finding a SMIC that doesn't cost 1500.00 (ASP) and that's in stock. I called about the ASP and they will not have one until next year and I will still have to polish it.

Next year as in less than 2 weeks from now? It's only taking like 2 weeks for all the parts right now including the core.

Yes, you are correct about the shipping. Do you know if there is a way to have it polished before being shipped out or will I have to receive it then take it to be polished? With a 1500.00 price tag you would think that it comes polished.
