smic install

I have looked on this forum and on the net and I can't find good instructions on installing a smic. I started myself but noticed there is a brace under the stock intercooler and I don't think I should take that out. Any help please. My car is in the garage for the winter and would like to get this done before it is too cold outside.

It would probably help if you specified which SMIC you're dealing with.

Just FYI, they all install about the same. Remove the OEM IC, bolt the new one in (if equipped with mounting brackets), and then connect the piping (either new or OEM). If you have an ASP/M2 intercooler, then it rests on the cross brace under the stock intercooler and leans forward against the duct. Even if you don't, the cross brace more than likely stays in place.
