slow crank problem

Let me start of by saying I have been searching for the right answer now for 5 weeks and still no luck. So far I have

-replaced the starter
-jumped out the security relay in the kick panel
-ran direct voltage to the starter/solenoid via relay (like the pettit booster kit)
-replaced battery with a brand new optima red top

Before this problem it would always be hard to start. It would take 3 or 4 times and then it would finally start. But 5 weeks ago it didn't want to start. At first it was just a click click no start. After the jumped out security relay and direct voltage the starter kicks out and spins every time now. But its slow, so I figured it was my starter or battery. So put in the new battery and I got a used starter from a fellow forum member and still the same problem. I have not tried to push start the car yet. Nor have I checked compression (71k original miles). I'm crossing my fingers hoping its not a seized motor. But I haven't had much luck as of late. Any other suggestions out their, as in to what to look at next.

loose + connection to the starter motor not the solenoid. loose dirty grounds. voltage to the solenoid and the motor are seperate. have you tried turning the motor by hand to see what it feels like?

if thats ok you can use a set of jumper cables and go from the batt pos to the post on the starter motor, run the ground cable from the batt - post to the engine somewhere and see if it cranks faster.

UPDATE - Got the car running. Ended up push starting it, took about 5 people. But my guess is I might of flooded it after the starter first died. Because it had tons of smoke when it started. And ran like ***. But after it warmed up, everything was back to normal. Got a business trip this week, so hopefully it will start up just fine next weeked.
