slow *** time at the strip....help analyze

want to the track.
r/t .575
60' 1.91
330 5.55
1/8 8.58
mph 83.21
1000 11.07
1/4 13.28 @ 104.49 about 80' outside. this was my best run......sig below minus the efini pipe.
running on nitto drag radials 555r. i know i should be in the twelve with my mods...wtf am i doing wrong...i power shift also....turbos were just replace with a set that had 30,000 miles on it supposedly....before the nittos i and turbos i was trapping as high as 107.5 mph. i might have a boost leak???? i bought bltiz dual blow off valve and i think it is fucked...i can hear it venting boost but could be wrong...also see some oil in the engine bay have no idea where it's coming from...could it be from the bov...i will replace it with the stock one and go back next week... thanks for the input. kevin

How much boost? You should trap solidly over 110 mph with those mods @13 psi.

No offense, but your 60 ft. time is dreadfully slow. You need to learn to launch better. However, I've never driven on those tires, so I can't really recommend anything, other than trying different launch rpms.

I agree, a 1.9 second 60 feet does not suck on Nittos, in fact, that's pretty damn decent.

With the Blitz BOV, do you have to adjust it to hold boost? It certainly sounds like it's leaking if you can hear it under WOT. Also, when your BOV releases boost pressure when you let off the throttle, it will release an oil mist, especially if the oil seals on your turbos are going bad. That may be the source of your oil under the hood.

BTW, why are you only running 0.84 bar (12 psi) if you have larger injectors and fuel pump? Crank that sucker up to 1 bar (~14 psi), at least at the strip!

Do you have a boost gauge other than the PFC? If so, what readings are you getting?

the blitz that i bought the spring is all the way in as far down as it will go....i can't get it to turn to adjust it.. where should the nut be at all the way down or halfway.....i suspected that the oil mist might be from the bov....that sucks b/c i just put these turbos in a weekago....supposed to have 30k on them...hummmmmmmmmm maybe its time for a single..rynberg i am only tuned for 12 psi...dave at kdr said he couldn't get the boost up last time he dyno tuned it....??????

i'm assuming that you mean the spring in the BOV. the stock wastegate actuator would be kinda hard to crack open and put back together in working condition

but anyway, yeah, the BOV spring could be wrong for your application.

is it run by spring or washers? ive never messed with a greddy bov...

hks uses a big bolt
turbo xs uses washers
greddy=??
and yea i was thinkin the wastgate was spring controled...my lack of rotary experience is shining thru
dsm's are that way i just took it forgranted

well, the wastegate is spring controlled, kinda. it should work the same way that a DSM works. but he was thinking that pressure was being lost through the BOV, not the wastegate, that's why i thought you might have made a typo.

the bov should be operated by a spring, but adjusted with washers (turbo XS) or a screw/bolt (most others).

well if the spring is to weak it will only hold up to a certain level then leak the excess...its a good way to regulate boost breaking in a motor

Check all your IC pipes, especially the one attached to the Y pipe....pull up on it to see if it comes out any.

Check your boost during your run and see if any boost is leaking. I ran a 104mph trap speed with just a full exhaust and 10psi on non-sequential.

Whoever said his 60' time is "dreadfully slow" is smokin crack now. It could be lower with DRs but 1.9 is more than quick enough for 12s with your mods. You aren't making the power down the track.

Evidence. Here's my times from last week (100 deg day in FL, Dunlop plain street tires, pump gas 13 psi):

r/t .684
60' 2.52
330 6.40
1/8 9.33
mph 86.14
1000 11.77
1/4 13.83 @ 110.49

Now THAT is a "Dreadfully slow" 60' time. Spun all the way through 1st and some of 2nd.

Next run. Feathered it out and tried not to spin but did a little anyway. And also hit the rev limiter in 3rd like a moron. :p

r/t .964
60' 2.17
330 5.72
1/8 8.59
mph 86.87
1000 11.03
1/4 13.09 @ 109.67

Can't wait to run on ET Streets and get some low 60' times. My car is a running a little rich also.

60 ft time with Nitto's 1.9 is about right. i had M and H's and ran best 60fts of 1.67 - 1.75. Until I got a puncture in them from a local tire shop here.

I have brand new MT et streets and never ran them because it started to get into winter here.

I have also decided to not Drag race this year so: I have this pr for sale. And with a high RPM launch they will yeild 1.6 - 1.75 60 ft time.

I have them mounted on a pr of Kosai K1 rims.

I have used Nitto's in the past and they are quite bad when you compare them to anything else.
