Sleepy lights question.

Are there any sleepy pop-up light kits out there besides the knight sports kit? Hows the lighting on them?

I'vs seen some pics of the "bacon sports" lights. Is there a how to on how to make those?

Thanks

I'm working on a kit right now as we speak, I just set it down so I could type this. It will be VERY similar to the Knight Sports kit, but it should have even better lighting, hopefully the best of an light kit so far, and definetely better than the stock lights. The way it's planned right now, it'll probably have a black anodized aluminum housing, and a carbon fiber cover in front of the lights (the stock headlight cover will bolt on just like stock too). If I can pull it off like it looks like I'll be able to, it should bolt on in just a matter of minutes without you having to remove the entire headlight assembly (the linkage will be hard to get to, but it looks like it will be doable without having to remove the whole assembly). It'll probably even be pre-assembled so it will drop right in. Hopefully I'll be able to make the wiring plug and play too, no splicing or anything. I'm working hard on this, hopefully I'll have the prototype running shortly. I'll keep everyone informed.

Well I've heard people all over raving about the Hella 90mm's, and while I was at Daytona for the 24 Hours I noticed a LOT of the teams actually running these, so they'll probably be the ones I use. I have a set of those, and what seems like 50 sets of other types of driving lights, and the hella's are just incredible. They have a European ECE lighting pattern, which I believe is similar to the BMW's (?). They'll have true hi/low beam, and on top of that they'll be DOT legal. Should turn out nice. I'm HOPING for a price of around $600-$700, but that'll all depend on how much it costs to make everything (too early to tell, but it shouldnt be long).

If you can Get HID for the lighting, I'll certainly want one.

I'm looking into that as well. I came across a Japanese site a couple days ago that looked like it had an HID kit hooked up to these lights, but I didnt get much information from it. I'm still looking though.

rx7even: If this does go into a production type situation, please keep me in mind, as I'm looking for better lighting and don't want to go sleek.

Hopefully not too long. I'm working on the actual brackets right now, trying to decide the best way to mount the lights. It shouldn't be too long after that. I'll test them while I look for a machine shop to fabricate the brackets and another shop to build the carbon fiber covers (probably going to be carbon fiber). Off the top of my head, I'll say 2-3 months maybe, but hopefully I'll have them done a lot quicker than that. I will definetely keep everyone updated with the progress, and I'll post pics along the way.
