Sleepy eye headlight kit
i seen this car on here a while ago, its a black FD and they guy custom made his headlight kit, the headlights came halfway up and they were amazing, HID and two bulbs for each headlight, anyone know where i can find sumthin like this..... and yes i did search already, didnt find what i was looking for

its easy bro just make it yourself... just add switches to the relays to your headlight motors... ive got that in my fd3s. i learnt it from this drift kings dvd

Knightsports looks hot and cost about 1000dollars. Here a pic of the knighsports

I personally like these, made by another member, i think at first glance they look a bit offputing but ive really grown to like the look. I would eventually like to get these.

Gordon, I assume you turn these on with the stock light stem and they just pop up to the right height?

Hmm, I thought the stock lights worked off a mechanical arm and the height of the pop up was determined by this (the length of the mechanical arm). If this is right, then how does the system know to stop at the correct, new lower height? What am I missing?

Basically, the light housing is about half the height of the stock lights. The attaching point on the new light housing helps with where it stop as well as since it's about half the height, it doesn't raise up as far giving it the "sleepy" look.

David, I don't recall changing the mechanical arm. IIRC, I actually ordered 2 new OEM arms for the install.

from $800 w/o HID's to $1700 w/ HID's?
what kind of HID's are these? they shoot out rockets at incoming cars?
seriously though, what kind of HID kit is it?
$900 for a HID kit is not a reasonable option IMHO.
but I do like the knightsports headlights, might get some soon.

I canŽt understand why you are flaming about this topic.
There are countries (like the one i live in) where you need special certified headlights.
The japanese headlights on my Rx arenŽt allowed here. So there are only two solutions.
buy original european Rx-7 headlights for 700€ or make your own headlights.
When you go with solution 2. YouŽll end up with what the thread starter was talking about.
And in my opinion this has nothing to do with ricer-style altezza lights in the back.
producing 4bulb headlights isnŽt easy and youŽll end up in 80% with the need to limit the popups @ a certain hight.
That has nothing to do with lame sleepy-eye mods.
Just my 0.02$.

IŽm @ the moment on producing such lights for myself.
If you are interested, join the mazdarotaryclub.com and take a look @ my project thread.

IŽll look if costumer will have reasonable effort with my 4buld headlight kit.
If yes and there really is interest, IŽll sell them for around 400€.
but it will maybe take some time (april / may this year) before they are finished and ready to go.

I think the <potentially> nicest was Wael's home-made set. I believe a forum member has them.
They were Hella HID's as I remember, and thus sat lower than the KS (good), but lacked a shroud like the KS (essential IMO).
Gordon, It's hard to discern in pictures, and i've never seen them in person, how much lower to the KS lights open than factory?
