Single / Non Seq Upgraded Engine Harness... Any news ??

Guys,

After this finding in my harness...

I started the search over the forum & internet for a better and upgraded engine harness... I don´t want to go to a brand new mainly because I would hate to get a new OEM Piece and cutting it away to make it a single turbo harnes...

So,

http://www.rywire.com/
I made a call, very friendly people, but no FD harness yet. There is no firm date to have it in stock and it will be published on the website when is available.

http://www.chasebays.com/
Very friendly again, it looks like the harness is on development and it will be a couple of month before is ready. No news about the specs or pricing.

Nice guy, we were on the phone for a long time and he actually can build a custom harness for me. He would get a used OEM Harness, rebuild the connectors and make a new one fully customized for me. They are very busy right now and this may take a couple of weeks before he can start working on my order. He´s got a great feedback on the "other" forum...

So, am I missing something ?? Any other option available ??

Anyone on the forum can build a custom / upgraded/ mils spec / re wrapped one ??

Any input is welcome...

Thanks..!!!

Every time I call Rywire, it's "about three weeks" until available.

That is with an extra week in between phone calls. I doubt they'll be out any time soon.

If jordaninnovations gave you a price quote for less than the cost of a new OEM harness, I say go for it. But I did hear that the Rywire piece will be around $650 for a milspec harness.

So it's really up to you.

Do you have any idea of how much for a new OEM one ??

Jeff from JordanInnovations gave a budgetary price of US$600 + Core for a Basic / Non Emission / No Bulkhead connector Mil spec harness.

And just FYI, for about US$2.000 he can get you a brand new custom Body Harness, with brand new racing specs Fuse Boxes and moving every wire inside the car. It would be a Plug & Play wire tuck body harness...

Any feedback on his product ?? I don´t see many (any) of his products in this forum...

I'm certain there will be those who disagree but I genuinely don't understand anyone who has such a hard-on for "mil-spec" wiring. The stock harness, while crispy, typically works after 20yrs (although I'd 100% replace it when an engine is replaced) and unless you plan on driving your FD through the mud or below negative temperatures I find it hard to justify the additional cost of "mil-spec" for what you get.

That's just me though. =)

Yea but the two prices listed above are about 200 cheaper than a new oem harness and thats the main reason.

And what about a re wrapping service ?? I mean, can I send a good condition used harness to anyone for conversion and rebuild ???

That would also help....

So you will deliver either an OEM-spec harness or one properly modified for single turbo if I read this correctly?

What a great service, will definitely be speaking with you later this year.
