Silly shoulder stap removal
I got some replacement shoulder straps from ramy's GB. but I don't have no clue how to remove them. THere held on by some clips but I dont want to rip or tear my seat in the process.
Anyone have any ideas?
picture of the straps is circulated in red

You will need to remove the seat cover and pull off a clip on the back.
It's fastened by a plastic post with a toothed metal washer. The post pushes through the fabric and is held in place with the washer. The washer has its teeth on the inside diameter so that it grips the plastic post.
Unfortunately I haven't tried removing it. If Ramy's parts don't include a replacement retaining washer the trick will be taking apart the old one without destroying the retaining washer.

I did mine but my seats are stock. It's zippered so you can get at it. It's a PITA but I used some small but long needle nose pliers to pry open the retaining washers and then pulled them off. Both my straps where cracked in half so it made it a bit easier cause I could twist them off. I ended up repairing them by using some epoxy glue and then covering them up with some carbon fiber film. It's saved me the $100 to replace them and if they break again I won't feel so bad. If your new ones come with all the clips I would just say snap the old ones off. Here's pics of mine https://www.rx7club.com/interior-exterior-audio-26/i-know-its-ricey-but-750036/. The pics are at the bottom of the post.
Hope this helps.

but to remove your seat covers, you need hog tie rings and hog tie pliers. Just do a search on installing aftermarket seat covers and that should give you an idea on how to do it. It's not hard just labor intensive.
If you do it yourself, take the saved money and buy a new driver's side seat cushion....

I was in on the same group buy for the shoulder straps and have them now also. I made a quick stab at putting them on and quickly realised that it was not that simple. I can feel how they are held in place with the brackets but cant seem to get at these.
Have you made any further progress on this?? Is it possible to get the job done without taking the whole seat cover off??
I am like you and cant believe the lack of info on replacement of these seeing as so many of them have broken over time!!
