silicone hose comparison

here is a picture to compare some cheapy thin hose, baker precision hose, and sumit racing's akimoto kit

Note:
I did a kink test and as you would expect, the cheapo hose (red) kinked all the way very easy and stopped flow, the baker precision hose (purple) took a lot to kink but at an extream bend it did kink and stop flow, and the sumit racing akimoto kit (yellow) basically didn't kink I bent it in half and it still flowed air.

a true test would be on hoses w/ the same inside diameter.

Cons:
You have to order 2-3 of them because one kit does not have enough for our cars

Pros:
The kit is only $30, so even ordering 3 kits keeps you at the same price as the hosetec kit

Also, it comes with some real thick hose that works great for the smaller coolant hoses.

i just got done my hose job. (besides waiting for some broken solenoids) but all i got was 30ft of 3.5mm and 10ft of 6mm. that's all the hose you really need, no need to get the kits w/ all diff sizes.

hey nmo93, you are right, for boost/vac hoses only, but the 10mm is noce to do the coolant and larger hoses

Do any of these aftermarket companies make a black silicone hose kit? I don't feel the colors too much.

Baker Precision has black. They sell by the foot. I usually buy 25 ft of 4mm and 5 ft of 6mm for a hose job. I usually have a foot of each left over.

does anyone know how wide the walls are on the hose tech. kit? I waiting for that in the mail, sure is taking long enough.
