I always stay off boost for the last 3-5 minutes of driving, and then give it 30 seconds once I park. If you drive it hard right up until you park, I'd say give it about 2 minutes or so.

But ideally, you really should take it easy for the last few minutes. This allows airflow to cool the engine while it isn't producing much heat. If you drive it hard, and then let it sit, it will cool off eventually, but temps will get staggerginly high while it is sitting.

Yea, what 911 said. Take it easy while driving around town. Remember- having a sitting still with fans running isnt doing anything for oil, and oil runs through the turbos also, so the oil just gets hotter sitting still.
So its best to cruise at 40+ for a few minutes to keep air flowing over the oil cooler and radiator.
It also helps the life of your silicon hoses some if when you get home you pop you hood (if its safe to do so, and you arent going anywhere for a few hours.) and let it sit.

I've seen people take a garden hose and run water over the oil cooler if they didnt have time to drive slow, just leave the car running for a few minutes with water running over it. Anyone know if this is a bad idea?

How is it that they have time to stand there and put water on the oil cooler for a few minutes, but didn't have time to drive easy. That makes no sense to me.

Just drive it easy before you arrive, and turn it off. It's a no brainer!!

He was in a hurry (boosted down his street) and came and parked, put the hose on, set the TT for 4 minutes and went inside to catch a TV show, I think.
We know honda drivers arent that smart- even if they are smart enough to make a honda fast.

So he boosted down the street in front of his house. That must have saved him 5 seconds. Then he got out the garden hose and put it on his oil cooler......taking way more than 5 seconds to do, so that he would not miss part of a tv show. I would suggest that you find another source of advice for your automotive needs.

I still don't really see the need for cooling down the car... You'd really have to be blazing around full boost for minutes on end (like on a track) for there even to be reason to let the turbos cool (I still argue it then). Both the oil and water running through them is still hot... Can't really see what it is doing.

I didnt say he was a source of advice, I said a friend of mine did it, I didn't say a friend of mine said to do it.
He didnt go the speed limit around town and boost down his neighborhood.
