Should I take my cats off?
a ported wastegate + boost controller would be needed to go catless, and you might still need to add a little restriction in the exhaust path if you still get creep.
the air pump pumps air directly into the cat while the engine is still cold. without the air pump doing its job you cat will fail very quickly. btw, the stock cats are super expensive.

steps 34 to 37 shows how to port the internal wastegate on the stock twins.
i don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but it isn't that hard in my mind to do this.
