Should i get one??

Hello,
I am new at this. My daughter wants a Rx7 1993 Turbo for her birthday. She is going to turn 16. But i don't really know if it is a good idea.
Since you all have one i was hoping you could tell me if it is a good idea.
Or should i just get her a celica?!?
Also is 140K miles on the engine a lot for that kind of car?!?

Well, thank you all for answering me and telling what you think about it.

Celica for the win.

And if you ever come back in here with such nonsense we're going to take a rotor housing and beat you to death.

NO kid 16 years old or otherwise should have that kinda car unless they've been driving some how for a few year prior and doing things like scca and exclusively driving RWD vehicles that rule.

Save yourself the headache of having to buy a new engine, the car being down, your daughter wrecking it or otherwise as well as insurance. Get a celica.

I think that it's too much car for a 16 year old. Also it will be a money pit for Dad. I bought my son an Eclipse when he turned 16. They are fun to drive and pretty dependable. Something like that would be a better choice if she likes sports cars.

FDs are great cars...but not for a 16 year old. Celica would be my choice.

I love your replies there are funny,
Anyways, i bought my son last year for his 16th birthday a 3000gt, but without the turbo, and nothing has happend yet.
But my daughter is crazy on the road, so i'll go for the celica gt.
The miata...don't think so my ex has one and she is wild with it.
Well, i don't really care about the money as long as they are happy, and the rx7 is only $9K.
As much as the celica.
But if you all say it's way better if i get her the celica then i will.
And the story is very touching i will make my daughter and son read it.

If your daughter is crazy on the road and you want her to stay alive, avoid letting her have a high powered turbo (unpredictable torque delivery) rear wheel drive car.

"Only" 19k? Don't give your kids such expensive cars, do you give them everything they want? I've seen what happens when kids get their desires indulged, they become worthless. Make her earn some money on her own with a "job" and she will respect her Corolla and not be such a danger to herself and everyone else on the road. Keep indulging her and she'll thrash any twenty thousand dollar car you give her.

[/my opinion]

First the car i saw was 9,000 not 19,000 sorry.
Two, the 1995 CHEVY LUMINA, i don't want her to look like a big fat cop.
And they are both working, they have jobs.
I'll just go buy her a Celica and do a paint job on it, like pink so she wont ruin the car.
