Should I buy this RX7?

Looking to get some feed back on this purchase. Never owned a rotary, but always loved the look of the 3rd gens. Any constructive info would be great. Thanks guys.

He said he has some recent compression tests and are within spec. He said it needs a Fuel Filter before it will start(which he said he is replacing tomorrow). Any other dead give aways I should look for ?

well, obviously look at the papersfor the compression test...ask to see the car on cold start up to see if you get any smoke signs on a cold start.

Do you have significant disposable income?

In all fairness, even if the car is a roller, I'd argue that is a decent price for everything you appear to be getting with the car. I'd make certain the title is clean and personally I'd question how long the engine will last (always have 3k-4k set aside for a new engine).

Is it a drive it away and never have any issues with it? Highly debatable and luck of the draw. Good roller price for $4500 (I'd offer $4000 and see what he says) yes.

I see. Good info. I was going to have the car inspected by a rotary shop here in the valley. I offered him 4500 and he said he'll think about it.

In my opinion that car looks like a basketcase. I think it will be problematic and you could regret buying it. If you just really want a rotary you should keep saving and hold out for a better one. Ultimately it will cost you, either pay upfront or pay with repairs.

I wouldn't buy it for that price. FDs that are clean and nicely modded or stock are the way to go. Basket cases for $5k need $20k to be nice. Paint, motor, wheels, tires, suspension and interior can add up like you won't believe.

Yeah well after the feedback so far I'm beginning to lean away from it. Plus he hasn't returned any of my calls since I offered him $4k.
