Short shifter
if you search there is a lot of threads on this, but just ot answer your question B&M makes a good one so does petit racing....most people are using B&M, it is just a little too notchy for some.
There is many S/S and everyone has there opinion on there particular model.
I have a B&M, install was easy, quality was awsome, definetly shortened the shifts, it's a little notchy when shifting but I'm very satisfied!

I have a Mazdaspeed one. It was fine until I had to install the momo shift ****. Because the mazdaspeed one gets fat it wouldnt let me sit the shift **** as low as I wanted (and still screw the bottom cap on). If I could do it again Id go B&M just because its a skinny stick all the way down. As for notchyness - that comes with any type of short shifter. Tradeoff for having not quite as long a throw.
I have a Mazdaspeed shortshifter.. If you like that stock smooth feeling, go with Mazdaspeed. About 40% shorter than stock.
My friend has a B&M, and it's notchy as hell. Feels pretty slick though if you like that. That's abouta 40% reduction as well.
I felt another friend's RE Amemiya shortshifter and that felt EXACTLY like stock. I don't even think it shortened the throw at all.

Mazdaspeed/Pettit/RX7store are all the same design (and probably manufacturer). Quality is top-notch, design is like OEM and it reduces throws ALOT. Just installed a Pettit on my car and FWIW, the kit even came with new bushings and gasket. Very nice.
