That exhaust bend looks really restrictive. You guys don't have a mandrel bender in the UK?

The exhaust is made in Australia, and the goofy looking bend on the downpipe is for ALL RHD cars to clear the steering column.

BTW, I have an SMB high-flow cat, and LOVE it. Fit and quality is SUPERB. You're gonna be very pleased with that setup.

Dito a few local FD's here run that exhaust setup so refreshing to see something different.

SMB also make the rare carbon fibre SP airbox but it'll cost you an arm and a leg...roughly $1.5k AUS last time I checked so by far the most expensive intake system I've seen.

It's either the light or his exhaust was damaged in shipping

Here's what their pieces look like: http://www.smb.net.au/fullsystemsmazdarx7.htm

LOL, this thread is hilarious.

1. you can totally tell its mendrel bend.. just the lighting cuz its polished... by looking at the outer curvature against the carpet

2. STOP LOOKING AT EBAY!! ALL JDM DOWNPIPES LOOK LIKE THAT. FROM HKS, FEED, EVERY JAPANESE FD TUNER!!!! due to RHD, they have less clearance next to the turbo.

1. The pipe looked crushed.

2. I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT THE DOWN PIPE, JUST THE CAT-BACK PORTION!!!!!!!!! Please re-read my post, there was never a mention of the down pipe. I even have the cat-back circled on the picture 3 posts above. I'm the last person you need to accuse of buying **** on E-bay.

You made the best choice...these exhausts are incredible. Sound delicious as well.

Pity you didnt go the full hog and get the 3.5" system...they are still incredibly quiet and mellow (Unless you actually put your foot down )

http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/for...597&highlight=

above is a link to a thread on my exhaust from SMB , including lots of pics, and comparison pics to the stock **** exhaust. You may have to sign up to the Australian Ausrotary site to view..I am unsure..(A good site anyways..some of us Aussies are pushing the limits on FD3s nowadays as well...)
PS..my car in that link still has a dead engine...I am not in a rush to get it back on the road as I would prefer to do it right..and I aint rich enough to do it quickly )
