shifting problems
Over the last few years shifting gears especially from 1st to 2nd and even 3rd is not smooth. I have to gently force it in if thats possible.
Its not a daily driver I probably drive it once a week or once every two weeks.
The fluid was changed around 2 years ago when I got the 60K service. I also had the clutch replaced. The car has 65K on it now. The work was done by mazdatrix.
I feel like it could be from being a non-daily driver. What should I do? Have the Fluid Changed?
Thaks for the help

I had some "difficulty" getting into 2nd. Had the transmission fluid changed to NEO 75W-90HD yesterday. I could feel the difference immediately. Seems the shifter "wants" to go into 2nd now.

Thanks, I try the fluid change.
Should I get a flush 100% replacement or will a drain and refill do the job. The ATF has been changed twice once by mazduh @30K and then by mazdatrix @60K
And it does not grind but is just hard to get into gear unless I excelerate hard and shift quickly. It seems if I am just cruising around and take my time shifting it doesnt want to go to the next gear.

I just found this previous post talking about previous work on the clutch affecting the transmission shifting. something about "the clutch slave cyl. Betcha it's wet under the rubber rod cap. Replace the slave cylinder and bleed"
Could this be the prob? it was under the 1st gen forum.

Clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder that is not travelling its full stroke will make it hard to shift into gear because in effect you are not fully disengaging when you shift. You did not tell us how many miles you have on your car. Tom

65K on the car.
Should I take it back to mazdatrix? Like I said its been two yars since they replaced the clutch. I just havent driven the car that much and I thought it was due to that.
