First, let me preface this question with this. I took my car to the drag strip about a week ago. I ran it 3 or 4 times, but had very bad wheel hop.

Anyways, I took the car out later in the week and drove it to work. Nothing out of the ordinary while driving to work. However, on the way home the car was, how shall I say, chattering when I put it into first gear. The car would also shake, or chatter when down shifting into 2nd. when going through the rest of the gears there was no noises or problems at all.

Additionally, the clutch pedal feels spongy and is vibrating more than normal. Does anyone have any idea what I broke?

I know the easy answer is the clutch? But the problem is not happening in all gears, so I am thinking it could be something else.

I am going to put it on the rack tomorrow, and see If I can visually see anything, but has anyone else had a problem like this, that was not clutch related?

It is a bonez street comp clutch from rx7.com

It has about 7K on it.

 

Was the flywheel brand new or resurfaced?

 

As far as I know new.
