Re: shifter issue

It's more than likely a bushing issue. They're fairly cheap, replace it with a new stock one.

I replaced my upper and lower shift bushings recently. The top shifter bushing was in much worse shape than the bottom bushing (see the link above for pics).

Replacing the bushings got rid of a rattling noise and took most of the slop out of the shifter. The throws are still longer than I prefer so I will probably upgrade to a short shifter in the near future.

does a new short shifter come with both of these bushings? or do they have to be purchased seperately?

Not sure about Gotham Racing.

i think the short shifters come with everything you need. it is a good questions, since i am in the same boat and am thinking of just going to a short shifter. by the look of it in the picture it seems like a whole assembly. maybe some1 who has bout a B&M or Gotham shifter will know.

Both the B&M and the Gotham shifter eliminate all but the lower most bushing. It is not included with the B&M. Generally the bushing is not included with the Gotham shifter either, but I know when they were on sale some where thrown in as a bonus. Either way, the bushing is only like $4 from Mazda.
