Shift ****? Anybody ever just remove the leather cover?

Anybody simply remove the worn out leather and use whatever is underneath? Is it smooth plastic or just a mess?

Mine was really worn out and peeling off. I took it off one day and I was surprised to see the smooth black finish on it. There is some type of glue on them but easy to remove.

I had mine recovered, and it was really, really cheap. The guy who did it is matthew.hulan [at] nf.sympatico.ca
