So yeah, my lovely Red R1 lady winks when the head lights are turned on or off. Just the left one. It's sort of a turn on but then after about a minute it gets kinda creepy. How do I fix it?

Sounds like a faulty relay.

The relays in the main box under the hood or is there something specific in the light motor? I ask because I'd have thought a single relay handled actuation of both lights; not just one. And since the problem is isolated to the left one that wouldn't quite make sense.

Can also be a dodgy headlight motor..I had a bad one about 6 months back.
try and spin the little red ****(on the light thats stuck down) on the top of the headlight motor when they should be up. See if it has a little spaz and shudders when you try to turn the ****.

I pulled that little cover off and spun the red dial clockwise about 2 turns. It didn't actively do anything on it's own.

But now when I turn the lights on they work perfectly. Seems to have fixed the problem I think. Thanks guys!

Not to be a downer, but I personally think it will start doing it again soon if that solved your issue.
Its similar to a starter motor with dodgy brushes, if you tap it, it will re seat the brushes a little bit and allow it to start another time. But it will keep getting worse over time.

see this good post, and change the brushes if the problem persists(costs like $2) ;
