Check the line running to the MAP (BOOST) sensor. It's along the firewall inside the engine bay on the driver's side. Make sure the vacuum line didn't pop off.

If it did, reconnect the line and reset the ECU.

the question would be , why did you hit fuel cut? Sounds like the motor is done really, because when the seals are bad, it wont idle right but it will usually drive decently at higher RPMs. If you have a boost guage, does the vaccum bounce around at idle ? Also, what is the vacc at idle ?

Do you have a boost gauge?

Basically, it could be a lot of things (including a blown motor). You just have to start troubleshooting.

some people just can't type or honeslty just don't care if they have typos. Or like my friend who has nerve damage, he can't type the left side of the keyboard well. Should ask before you start raggin on someone.

Like Mahjik said there are a LOT of things that could make your car run like that. KDR will have a solution for you in no time.

What mods do you have and how often have you been hitting fuel cut?

sounds like when I blew my lower intake manifold gasket, but my idle was much higher then 750, does sound like MAP hose fell off. Are you spraying oil out your exhaust?

Chances are, his motor is just fine. Really, everyone is always telling someone they blew their motor, when in fact it was a slit in a coupler or something else of that sort. I think people need to lighten up, and gather all their facts before getting someone all worried about a blown motor.

Anywho, i'd go over EVERY coupler on the car. Don't just look at them, take them off and inspect them. I had a similar problem when the factory coupler on the y-pipe ripped. (where the y-pipe joins to the plastic crossover pipe.) Also go over every vac. hose you have easy access to. I had another similar problem when a hose popped off the black box right in front of the UIM. If everything i've listed isn't the problem, go back over the hose that leads to the MAP. It might not have came off RIGHT at the MAP, but it could have a little ways down. If that's not the problem either, then try looking at gaskets. The list goes on and on.

Now, if everything above checks out ok, have a compression test done. That's the only way your going to know if you have a blown motor. If that checks out ok, then take it to someone who deals with rotarys, and have it completely checked over.

It'll also help to know what mods you have, how many times you've hit fuel cut. Also, have you done anything to try and correct the situation, or have you just continued to drive the car in that manner? (Hitting fuel cut)

-Alex

Edit: BTW, that wasn't directed towards you rescueranger.
