Check the group buy section and/or the 51R battery tray thread in the 3rd gen section.

i hear ya...just prefer a more affordable way...ie, not changing out the battery and buying a new try = ~$120.
Can it be done with the stock battery and stock tray?

Use a strap or tie-down device as opposed to a metal clamp.

That's okay. Just wait until your intercooler rubs a hole in your battery and leaks acid everywhere. Then you can buy a new battery, battery tray, and you will always be remeinded of it from the white chalky acid finish on your $1500 intercooler. Don't believe me? I have seen it!

Sometimes it is better to prevent a problem then to wait until it happens.

Just my $0.02.

You can buy a smaller battery and drill a hole in the stock trayand run a longer J hook up from under. Drill the hole so the new bat is pressed against the side of the stock tray and the new J hook. Put a large washer under the J hook so it doesn't rip through the tray.

I forgot to add that I used an adjustable tie down from Autozone. Seems to be working fine and only cost about 3 bucks, minus the new battery.
