Unhappy Secondary Turbo not spooling

After I get above 4500 rpm's my boost goes from 10 PSI and slowly bleeds off, almost like the secondary turbo isn't kicking in...any thoughts on this matter could it just be a blow vacuum line or is my turbo shot?

PS this explains why I did so shitty at the track yesterday my best time was 15.3 @ 89 MPH (it was my first time at the track BTW)

thanks in advance for all your help

Rip the **** out, check your flapper doors and controls. Sounds like what happend to me when I first got my car. The people that owned it before me ghetto rigged the "non-sequential" mod and ended up shutting off the secondary turbo flapper door. So I took the time to do it right and just finished my non-sequential project.

If you are losing boost on the 2nd turbo, then check whats unique to it. Check the "Charge release gate" & if its leaking pressure. Also check the blow off valve & pipes in case they are leaking pressure.

Remember that your car is now 12 years old (FD = 92-02) & problem will be cropping up every now & then.

well I wanna re-do all my vaccuum hoses with the blue silicone ones, so I might just pick up the kit for it while I already have the UIM off, only thing is I want someone with some know-how to be there with me when I do, so I don't mess anything up. anyone in the south NJ area wanna help me out?

I have my stock BOV blowing off into the atmosphere instead of the intake box, I wonder if that could be effecting it. Like I just put in my post above I wanna find someone who has some know-how with taking the UIM off to help me out or watch me while I do it so I don't mess anything up that isn't messed up.

does your car make a peculiar noise when in high rpms? meaning after 4500 rpms when the secondary turbo is supposed to kick in your boost dissapears? I had the same problem with my car.Try driving it past 4500 rpms and then let go of the pedal. If you hear a booooop sound instead of the usual pssst sound from the blow off valve you have a charge control valve problem. Its located in the back half of the y pipe and it looks like a throttle butterfly. But without vacuum to the charge control solenoid which is located underneath the upper intake manifold the charge control actuator will not function in order to open the charge control valve.Make sense? If youre confused reffer to the vacuum hose diagram.

Help is less important than time and a big printout of the vac hose diagram. PM me if you really want a big color printout. Don't remove anything until you've located it on the diagram.

Somebody said they taped it right to the hood liner - a good idea. I taped mine to the wall and wrote notes on it. I wrote the length/size of each piece as I removed it so I could make sure my replacements fit together the same way. Before you start, find each actuator, solenoid, and check valve in the FSM and note the pages where the tests are for these pieces.

Your boost problem is probably caused by a popped/torn hose, bad actuator, or bad solenoid. I would do the vac hose job and test all of these things. A 12v battery trickle charger, Mityvac Silverline Plus vacuum pump kit (not the cheaper kits), and multimeter should all be on hand.

This is probably an easy fix. I had the same exact problem with my secondary turbo. Check the hoses for the secondary turbo. I'll bet you'll find one of them has popped off (or is torn like the above post stated). On mine, the hose had slipped off the secondary turbo. I pooped it back on and was a good as new!
