Second Gear Tops?
hey guys I was just wondering... when ya'll take 2nd gear up to redline wut speed do u get to? My friend has a VR4 and it gets to 83 in second gear. Just curious wut the rx7 does. his gearing is long though.

About 125. I can hit mach 1 in 4th but the afterburners are hell on fuel mileage.

Mid to high 60s with stock tires (72 mph gear limited, which you'll never attain anywhere but on paper). Add a couple mph for a taller rear tire like a P275/40-17.

I think I usually shift around 65-68mph because my car runs out of poop at 7500rpm or so.

Me too. When racing I run second out to just shy of 65; that's on a stock motor with downpipe and catback. No sense in running second out further unless you need to carry the gear in order to save a shift.
